guru gotra agni pūjī |
avasarīṃ bhaje dvijīṃ |
nimittādikīṃ yajī |
pitaroddeśeṃ ||

who honours the guru, the clan, and the fire,
serves the twice-born on appropriate occasions,
and makes offerings on special occasions
in the name of the ancestors;
