manūneṃ āpaṇa anuṣṭhilī |
maga ikṣvākuvā upadeśilī |
aisī paraṃparā vistārilī |
ādya he gā ||
Manu practiced it himself, / and then taught it to Ikṣvāku; / in this way, this ancient tradition / was expanded, O friend.
