na māṃ karmāṇi limpanti na me karmaphale spṛhā
iti māṃ yo 'bhijānāti karmabhir na sa badhyate
je prkṛtīceni ādhāreṃ |
guṇāceni vyabhicāreṃ |
karmeṃ tadanusāreṃ |
vivaṃcilīṃ ||

Because on the support of nature, / through the intermingling of the guṇas, / actions have been distinguished / in accordance with them.
