Jñāneśvarī (commentary on the Bhagavadgītā) 7.139

7.139

kāmais tais tair hṛtajñānāḥ prapadyante 'nyadevatāḥ
taṃ taṃ niyamam āsthāya prakṛtyā niyatāḥ svayā
āṇi phaḷāciyā hāṃvā |
hṛdayīṃ kāmā jālā rigāvā |
kīṃ tayāciye ghasaṇī divā |
jñānācā gelā ||

And with longing for the fruit,
desire entered their hearts;
and by its friction, the lamp
of knowledge was extinguished.
