sahasrayugaparyantam ahar yad brahmaṇo viduḥ
rātriṃ yugasahasrāntāṃ te 'horātravido janāḥ
jaiṃ cokaḍiyā sahasra jāye |
taiṃ ṭhāyeṭhāvo viḷuci hoya |
āṇi teseṃci sahasre bhariyeṃ pāheṃ |
rātrī jetha ||

When a cycle of four ages passes a thousand times, / only then does evening arrive at its place, / and after a thousand such ages have passed, / night dawns there.
