je lokaceṣṭāṃ samastāṃ |
jaisā nimittamātra kāṃ savitā |
taisā jagatprabhavīṃ paṃḍusutā |
mī jāṇeṃ ||

as the sun is a mere instrumental cause / for all the activities of the world, / so know Me, O son of Pāṇḍu, / in the origination of the universe.
