Jñāneśvarī (commentary on the Bhagavadgītā) 9.29

9.29

aho caṃdrakāṃtu dravatā kīra hoye |
pari te hātavaṭī caṃdrīṃ kīṃ āhe |
mhaṇaūni vaktā to vaktāci nohe |
śrotenaviṇa ||

Ah, the moonstone indeed melts,
but that skill belongs to the moon alone;
therefore, a speaker is no speaker at all
without a listener.
