jarī soneṃ leṇeṃ hoūni ghaḍe |
tarī tayāceṃ sonepaṇa na moḍe |
yera aḷaṃkāra he varacilīkaḍe |
letayāceni bhāveṃ ||
Even if gold is fashioned into an ornament, / its nature as gold is not broken; / the other thing, the 'ornament', is superficial, / born of the wearer's imagination.
