Wondering at the heroine.
A verse in āciriyaviruttam of seven metrical feet.
O dwellers in Aruṇai of the Lord with echoing anklets, who stood as a column of fire
reaching beyond the universe, whose throat wears the cloud's dark hue, whose red matted locks wear the full Gaṅgā,
and on whose one side dwells the slender branch [Umā]!
It has been seen that a moon rises above a cloud;
never has it been seen in this way, where a cloud of dense locks has made its dwelling
upon the orb of your face, a new moon!
