Kamalālaya Ammai
While Sanaka and others worshipped his pair of reddish feet,
he who is the Teacher reciting the rare Vedas in the shade of the banyan tree, he who rules the celestials,
he whom it was hard for the swan and the boar to seek out long ago,
the gracious one, Tiyākar—to swell the desire for the melodious tunes of the paḷḷēcal that delights his heart:
she whose beauty rivals ten million suns,
the trident-bearer, Manonmaṇī, Tripurā,
Umā who dwells upon the Himalayas, she who rules over us,
she whose breasts are golden mountains,
she who stands in rare, great tapas—
the two feet of Kamalālaya Nāyaki I shall never forget.
