تعالى وكتاب الهداية [1] على مذهب الإمام أبي حنيفة رضي الله عنه، ويجيد في المعقول، ويكتب خطا حسنا، وله يد ممتدة في الرياضة، وتأديب النفس، والأدب، ويقول الشعر، وينظمه، ويستنشده، ويفهم معانيه، ويباحث عنها العلماء، ويناظر الفضلاء، ويؤاخذ خصوص الشعراء بالفارسية، فإنه عالق بأهدابها، عارف بشعابها.

Most High and the book al-Hidāya according to the school of Imām Abū Ḥanīfa, may God be pleased with him; he excels in the rational sciences, writes a fine hand, and has a broad mastery of mathematics, discipline of the soul and letters; he composes poetry and versifies, has it recited to him, understands its meanings and discusses them with the scholars, debates with the learned, and takes the poets in particular to task in Persian, for he clings to its fringes and knows its paths.
