Shaykh Mubārak told me that this Sultan has seven parasols carried over his head, two of them inlaid [with jewels] and beyond price; and his court has such magnificence and grandeur, such imperial (shāhanshāhī) rules and royal ceremonial, as was never practised except by Alexander Dhū al-Qarnayn or by Malikshāh b. Alp Arslān.
