ثم رحلنا إلى مدينة قالي ، بالقاف وكسر اللام، وهي صغيرة على ستة فراسخ من دينور، وبها رجل من المسلمين يعرف بالناخودة ابراهيم أضافنا بموضع، ورحلنا إلى مدينة كلنبو وضبط اسمها بفتح الكاف واللام وسكون النون وضم الباء الموحدة وواو، وهي من أحسن بلاد سرنديب واكبرها، وبها يسكن الوزير حاكم البحر جالستي ومعه نحو خمسمائة من الحبشة.

Then we travelled to the city of Qālī (with q and i after the l), a small town six parasangs from Dīnawar. In it is a Muslim man known as the nākhudā Ibrāhīm, who entertained us at a place. Then we travelled to the city of Kalanbū (spelled with a after the k and the l, unvowelled n, u after the b and w), one of the finest and largest towns of Sarandīb. In it lives the vizier, ruler of the sea, Jālastī, and with him about five hundred Abyssinians.
