وبتنا تلك الليلة على تعبئة فلما كان في اليوم الثاني رتب السلطان عسكره أفواجا وجعل مع كل فوج الفيلة المدرعة، عليها الأبراج فوقها المقاتلة وتدرع العسكر وتهيئوا للحرب،

We spent that night in battle order. On the second day the Sultan arranged his army in divisions and placed with each division armoured elephants bearing towers with fighting men on top; the army put on its armour and made ready for battle,
