من أهل المراكب ينزل إليهم إلا إن كان من المقيمين عندهم، وانما يبايعون الناس ويشارونهم على الساحل ويسوقون إليهم الماء على الفيلة لانه بعيد من الساحل ولا يتركونهم لاستقائه خوفا على نسائهم لانهن يطمحن إلى الرجال الحسان! والفيلة كثيرة عندهم، ولا يبيعها أحد غير سلطانهم ثم تشتري منه بالأثواب، ولهم كلام غريب لا يفقهه إلا من ساكنهم وأكثر التردد اليهم، ولما وصلنا إلى ساحلهم أتو إلينا في قوارب صغار، كل قارب من خشبة واحدة منحوتة، وجاءوا بالموز والتنبول والفوفل والسمك.
