يا خواجة أنت تكذب، والقاضي يقول الحق فقال له السلطان: وكيف ذلك؟ فقال: ياخوند عالم! هو القاضي وهي لقيماته فانه أتى بها، فضحك السلطان، وقال: صدقت!

"O Khwāja, you are lying, and the qāḍī is telling the truth." The Sultan said to him, "How is that?" He said, "O Khwand ʿĀlam! He is the qāḍī and these are his morsels, for he is the one who brought them." The Sultan laughed and said, "You are right!"
