وسافرنا من هذه المدينة يعني كنباية إلى بلدة كاوي ، وهي على خور فيه المد والجزر وهي من بلاد الري جالنسي الكافر وسنذكره، وسافرنا منها إلى مدينة قندهار وضبط اسمها بفتح القاف وسكون النون وفتح الدال المهمل وهاء والف وراء، وهي مدينة كبيرة للكفار على خور من البحر.

We travelled from this city, that is Kanbāya, to the town of Kāwī, which lies on a tidal inlet with ebb and flow and belongs to the territories of the infidel Rāy Jālansī, whom we shall mention. From there we travelled to the city of Qandahār — its name is spelt with a after q, n without vowel, a after the undotted d, then h, ā and r — a large city of the infidels on an inlet of the sea.
