the city of Sunarkāwān, which is well fortified. The sultan sent troops to besiege it, and its people, fearing for their lives, seized Shaydā and sent him to the sultan's army. They wrote to [the sultan] about him, and he ordered them to send him his head, which they did; and a large number of faqīrs were put to death on his account.
