آمذن کنیرک عاشق شهزاذه پیش شاه هیچ جواب نشنیذند . شاه وحاضران گفتند : مگر ازین جماعت خحالت می پذیرذ ، ودر حضرت ما زبان مقال تمی گشانذ ، اورا بسرای حرم بایذ فرستاذ ، باشذ کی با اهل برده سخن گوید (1/2) ودر حرم شاه کینزکی بوذ این جهانی ، ومدها عاشق جمال این پسر بوذه ، وچون بر کعبهٔ‌ وصال او ظفر بمی یافت ، در بادیهآ فراق او متحیر مایده بوذ ، واز وصال او بحیال خرسند شذه ، ودر شبهای یلدای فراق، دفتر مسترت اشتیاق، بر طاق افتراق نهاذه، وبا طایف خیال جمال او، از لطایف وصال او شکایت می بموذ ، ومی گفت :

they heard no answer. The king and those present said: 'Perhaps he feels shy before this company
and will not loose the tongue of speech in our presence; he should be sent to the palace of the harem,
so that he might speak with the women of the veil.'
Now in the king's harem was an otherworldly slave-girl who had long been in love with the beauty of this
youth. Since she could not attain the Kaʿba of union with him, she remained bewildered in the desert of separation from him,
contenting herself with a phantom of union with him; and through the Yaldā nights of separation,
placing the ledger of the joy of longing upon the shelf of parting, she would complain of the subtleties of union with him to the phantom of his beauty's apparition,
and say:
