وکاشکی بر دل بی رحم تو اعتمادی دارمی ، کی خدمت مرا در حضرت وصل تو قبولی باشذ ، وبکعبهٔ‌ جمال بو وصولی میسر گردذی ، تا یدر را بتیغ از پای در آرمی ، یا بزهر از سش بر دارمی ، وچنگ محبت ، در فتراک دولت تو زنمی:

And would that I had trust in your unmerciful heart that my service would find acceptance in the court of union
with you, and that reaching the Kaʿba of your beauty might be attained, so that I might bring down my father with the sword,
or remove him from my path with poison, and cling with the hand of love to the saddle-strap of your good fortune:
