یا صباح الوجوه فاعتبروا وآرحموا کل عاشق ظلما دختر از شرم این حالت خویشتن در خانهٔ‌ من افگند ، وبحکم قرب محاورت ، وقدم صحیت ومحاورت پنهان می وذ، واز شرم وخحالت روی بهیچ کس نموذ ؛ مدت دو سالست تا تفقدش می کنم ، وتعهد واجب می دارم ؛ واین راز بهیچ کس آشکارا نکرده ام ؛ وعجب آنست کی هر کجا زنی صاحب جمال بینذ ، اشک حسرت باریدن گیرذ :

O fair-faced ones, take heed, / and have pity on every wronged lover.
From shame at this condition, the girl cast herself into my house, and by virtue of close
