Story of the soldier, the beloved, and the apprentice
Meanwhile, the soldier was arranging a nest and adorning a chamber, [hoping] that at any moment
the beloved might enter through the door, or news of her presence might arrive, so that the retreat would be illuminated by the light of her beauty,
and the chamber would become fragrant and a rose garden from the perfume of her tresses. Yet the apprentice turned out to be more fortunate than the master,
