72.1

Were it not for Jarīr and al-Farazdaq, the memory of all the Banū Marwān would not have endured;
and you see the praise of Rūdakī outlasting all that the Banū Sāmān amassed;
and the song of Bārbad remaining after all that the Banū Sāsān possessed in the world.
And the kings of Ghassān have perished, except for what / Ḥassān recited concerning Ghassān.
