On the front side two square pillars were erected in a line with the sanctum pillars at a distance of 5½ ft. These supported capitals and lintels were covered with a flat top stone, so that on all sides of the temple a continuous circumambulatory path was provided. Outside the pradakṣiṇāpatha a stone course only 16" high from the ground ran on three sides of the temple at a distance of 2'2" from the pilasters.
