A second style of coiffure shows the hair in the form of peacock’s feathers turning at the ends (*līlā-mayūra-barhabhaṅgī keśa-pāśa*) and arranged on the two sides of the central parting². Another style of coiffure in which the hair was arranged in the form of a honey-comb into two cellular masses had its origin in the fashions cultivated by the Parthians. It is said that this beautiful style was patronised even amongst the society women in Rome and thus had obtained international vogue in the ancient fashion world³.
