¹ The river has since restored some of them. A few of the sculptures in the collection of the Bhārat Kalā Bhavan, Banaras, were retrieved from the bed of the river near the bridge. Some sculptures of great iconographic interest were found by me in the river-bed, not very far from the site of the bridge.
