Another conch shell trumpet is shown on Pl. XLIIIA, 4. This is one known as the Jaya Śaka, or Chank of Victory, and it is said to have been dedicated by Rājadhi Rāja Siṃha to the Mahā Dēvāle, Kandy (where it still is) after a victory over the Dutch at Guruḅebile. It is mounted in gold, the mounting covering the mouthpiece, in order, it is said, that none other than the royal lips should ever be applied to it.
