Appliqué work is also found on a larger scale, on flags and pillow cases. Appliqué flags are not often well made, and may represent an attempt to find a substitute for the more satisfactory dye-painted flags formerly used. The embroidered flags done for the Kandy Art Association recently, have been of very poor workmanship.
