The consideration of the origins of Sinhalese Art carries the enquirer back through Indian Art to a remoter past, and raises the question of the origins of the Early Indian Art which we have seen to be an immediate ancestor of Sinhalese. In the following notes I consider briefly a special aspect of this question, viz., the Influence of Greek on Indian Art, without limiting the scope of the enquiry to the facies of Indian Art preserved in late Mediæval Ceylon.
