**Wives of the Mathurā Brāhmans offering milk to Krishna.** Krishna is seated with Balarāma and other *gopas* and the cows, under a tree beside the Jamunā, and three *gopīs*, or more probably the wives of the Mathurā Brāhmans (as on Plate LVII) are offering milk in leaf cups.
