BĀDĀMI, in the south-east corner of the Bijāpūr district, possesses some of the most interesting remains within the confines of the old Chālukyan territories, and it also possesses some of the most beautiful natural scenery in the Dakhan. Its archæological interest lies in its possession of a series of old cave temples of the sixth century, A.D., both Hindu and Jaina,¹ some very old structural temples, and its old fortifications.
