¹ An inscription on the door jamb, in characters of the 13th century, seems to be a copy from a grant made in A.D. 955 which may be about the date of the temple. But this doorway, Mr Cousens says, bears a figure of Vishnu on Garuda, and may have been taken from some Hindû temple.
