The building is two-storied, ornamented with railings; the second storey, pierced by windows with projecting arches, is covered in its turn by a rounded roof, surmounted by a row of pinnacles. The lower one is shown as a great open hall containing a wheel, from the nave of which hangs a heavy garland under a parasol ornamented in the same way. At each side stands an important lay personage, with his hands joined. On the roof of each of these two edifices can be read an inscription; the two borders of the stone are treated as stems of the fan-palm. For the interpretation of this scene cf. above, pp. 178-180.
