According to Someśvara Deva (Circa 1131 A.D.) cited in Rāga-darpaṇa (Raja Sir S. M. Tagore's Edition, 1881, P 72) The Chapter in the author's Encyclopædia Mānsollāsa, does not give any classification of the Melodies Probably this is given in his work Sangīta-ratnāvalî. the text of which is now lost.
