The subject of the panel below, with the splendid relief of a ship in full sail, seems to be connected with the history of the colonisation of Java by Indians, which has been already narrated.¹ The ship, magnificent in design and movement, is a masterpiece in itself. It tells more plainly than words the perils which the Prince of Gujerat and his companions encountered on the long and difficult voyage from the west coast of India. But these are over now. The sailors are hastening to furl the sails and bring the ship to anchor.
