“They sailed in six large ships and upwards of a hundred small, and, after a voyage of four months, reached what they thought to be the island of Java; but it did not accord with the account given by Ali Sâka, so they re-embarked. In a few months they came in sight of an island with a long range of mountains, and some of them, with the Prince at their head, effected a landing at the western extremity, while a part were driven southward. They soon met with the grain *jáwa-wut*, as described by Aji Sâka, and ascertained that they had at last reached their destination.”
