The construction of the wooden rail, and of the stone imitation of it, is shown in fig. 10. It may be observed that the form into which the horizontal bars is shaped is exactly that which is used in the traditional timber houses of Norway. It is, in fact, the simplest method for ensuring good horizontal joints in the walls of wooden houses.
