To the east of the Sivalaya is a modern Durghah. The whole undulated rocky area to the North-East of the Sivalaya seems to be the place of occupation of the rulers of the Early Chalukya dynasty. Near the north-east edge of the hill is a thin layer of ashy earth containing lots of potteries of post Vijayanagara period and of medieval times, and, it is particularly noteworthy, of the period between 2nd and 10th century A.D.
