Within the fort is at present a Jaina temple (Fig. 35, Schedule No. 9) mentioned above and a few sculptures, door-frames, pillars of some temples of the period scattered here and there or used as building material in the fort walls. It is, therefore, at present, almost impossible to know from the ruins about the probable date of the beginning of using the place as the capital on the one hand and the construction of the fort on the other. One has to, therefore, be content with study of the fort alone and to try to determine the probable period of the construction of the fort.
