The wall in between the two bastions, the bastions and the wall skirting the flight of steps from the bastion near the entrance VI (Fig.51) are provided with loop-holes at the top. Thus, the entrance VI, the entrance to the officers quarters, the barbican, the flight of steps and the entrance VII (Fig. 51) are all well protected.
