The first ruler of the Dynasty, Yusuf Adil Shah is credited with the construction of the citadel i.e. (Ibid., 1962, p.73). Arequilla, Incidentally, it may be mentioned that he was responsible for the construction of the Yusuf's old Jāmimasjid and the Dakhani Idgah.
