The strategic hilly area is recommended for circular fort consisting of two or three concentric fortifications with main streets running in radial way from the centre where a temple is located. The fort must be on the summit of a hill with deep valley all round which in turn is surrounded by hill ranges. It is Giridurga (Fig.88).
