The *Siddhānta-śiromaṇi* of Bhāskarācārya, which is the most famous of all Indian astronomical works, was written in the year 1150 A.D. It is divided into four parts: (1) *Līlāvatī* (Arithmetic), (2) *Bījagaṇita* (Algebra), (3) *Grahagaṇitādhyāya* (Mathematics of the Planets), and (4) *Golādhyāya* (Spherics). The *Līlāvatī* and *Bījagaṇita* are often treated as separate works. The *Grahagaṇitādhyāya* and *Golādhyāya* together constitute the *Siddhānta-śiromaṇi* proper.
