The figure of Varuṇa, the water-god, in the central panel, and those of Gaṇeśa, of a Rānī, a Kinnara and Kinnarī, are given the smallest possible amount of plastic treatment, and other fountain-stones contain figures even further linearised. This tendency is clearest to be seen in the way in which the lotus petals, on the moulding below the figure-compartments, are filled each with a freely linear design of its own.
