These heads with an altogether high cranium—and not as in most of the images of the Buddha, with an excrescence on the crown of the head only—correspond to the well-developed head and forehead (*paripuṇṇasīsa* and *paripuṇṇalaḷāṭa*) of Buddhaghoṣa.
