The Garbhagṛha, the Cave in the Mountain, lies below its highest point. Along this axis, on any level of the temple, there is, in principle, this secret centre. Even though it is inaccessible from within, its position is marked by the superposition of surrounding storeys (bhūmi) on the monumental body of the Prāsāda (Fig. h, Part VI).
