v2.c11.s6.20

¹³⁵ Yakṣiṇīs (‘Tantrarāja-tantra’, XVII. 50-53) are young and beautiful woman-spirits in fine raiments who give the Sādhaka all worldly goods he may desire. In this limited function, however, they carry the heritage of their past when Yakṣa was equivalent with Divinity (Devatā; see also the images represented and inscribed in Barhut, Barua, op. cit.).
