²⁰¹ The figure of the Royal Knight with the sword at the right side, is carved in the very act of ascending, under the Āmalaka (Taleśvar temple in Tilasma, Mewar, Rajputana ‘ASI. Progress Report, Western Circle’, 1905, p. 56). Today even this figure is locally known as the “royal personage who built the temple and who by means of that meritorious act ascends to heaven.”
