v2.c12.151
Cāmuṇḍī, Yakṣiṇī of the twenty-first Tīrthaṅkara, resembles the Hindu goddess Cāmuṇḍā, the seventh Mother (mātṛkā). In some of her images Cāmuṇḍā is represented as a dancer. Extreme emaciation, darkness in cadaverous cavities, facial hinges bared, eye-sockets as stringy as are her necklace and ribs below pendant empty breasts are the ornaments of the Mother, in her destructive form. Night and decay scream from deep hollows. A feeble halo rounds them off.
