v2.c12.237
The roof, in three tiers, of the mansion of the gods, on the side face of the Śukanāsā, is replete with a web of Gavākṣas of which the unit is a major Gavākṣa with the ends of the extrados curling outward on the apex, and a minor Gavākṣa inscribed in it and linked by its extended apex to that of the larger Gavākṣa. Three openings or deep holes are thus within the betel leaf shape of the major Gavākṣa, round patch of darkness in the centre, and the two halves of the remaining part of the major Gavākṣa, forming foils in the tracery of the tympanum.
